You make us sparkle and You make us shine.

Somehow, my two week trip to Haiti became six weeks of living and working with everyone here.
Instead of being the person visiting, and then heading home, I became the person helping to coordinate teams that would leave after a week or two.
I became the one left behind.

Do I wish I was leaving with these teams I have gotten to know so well?
No. Absolutely not.
Do I wish they would stay longer?
Absolutely.
Do I wish they lived closer to me, maybe in the same country at least?
Again, absolutely.

I have met some of the most amazing people I have ever known in Haiti, both American and Haitian. I have four amazing teams that felt like I had been a part of them from the beginning. I have never felt like I belonged more. I am floored at how God has abundantly blessed me, simply because I chose to obey and change my ticket. I know I keep saying it, but I am overwhelmed at how blessed and how loved I am.

Dress us up in your righteousness
Bring us in with a ring and a kiss
When you walk into the room
You know I can't resist
Every bottle of perfume
Always ends up on the floor in a mess

You make us sparkle and you make us shine
Like the stars who sing on your chorus line
Through space and time
We'll harmonize
When deep meets deep
Like the ocean meets the sky

I am SO good at living in chaos. It's what I know, it's what I feel safe in. Haiti is chaos all the time, and there is no way to really avoid it. And so I feel safe here. I come alive here. Haiti brings out the best in me.
I am learning how to organize life in between the chaos. It's beautiful. This is where I sparkle. And this is where I shine.

I have 2 days left with these beautiful people, and then the 9 month countdown until my return will begin.

When you walk into the room, you know I can't resist.
Every bottle of perfume always ends up on the floor in a mess.
